Several new Apple Macs coming next week
Apple unveiled an updated iPad mini earlier this month and launched it this week. With that out of the way, Cupertino is shifting its focus to its Mac computers. And it’s apparently not just a new Mac, but a whole week of announcements. Apple’s SVP of Marketing, Greg Joswiak, posted a teaser on X, saying that announcements will begin Monday morning. But of course, that’s West Coast time – Apple’s headquarters are in Cupertino in Silicon Valley, south of San Francisco.
New Apple Mac mini M4
Some time ago, Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman reported that the company is working on a Mac mini with an M4 chipset. It will reportedly be even smaller than the current Mac mini and will be close in size to an Apple TV 4K. Recently there was a second leak about the Mac mini M4, which actually came from Apple itself.
There should also be other Macs with the Apple M4, because currently the latest chip is only used in the iPad Pro 11 (2024) and IPad Pro 13 (2024). This could include new 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook Pros and a new iMac.
Apple is also expected to introduce more powerful Pro and Max versions of the M4. Some sources claim that the new MacBook Pro notebooks and the Mac mini will be available with a choice of different M4 and M4 Pro chips. The MacBooks will also be available with top-end performance, namely the M4 Max.
The models that we do not expect to see an update over the next week include the MacBook Air, the Mac Studio and the Mac Pro. After all, there has to be something to update in the first quarter of 2025.
