Until now, the rumor mill was pretty much in agreement that the next book-style foldable from South Korea is the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Special Edition. It was also rumored to launch on September 25th. That obviously didn’t happen. But we do have some news related to the launch. A Korean retailer has apparently revealed the pre-order and release period for the Samsung Galaxy Fold6 Special Edition. If you look closely, you’ll notice no Z in the name anymore, but a 6 instead.

This could be a typo, it could be the actual trade name of the device, or it could just all be made up. Keep that in mind as you read the rest, as one of the two linked pages is now down. In any case, it apparently said that pre-orders for the device in Korea will begin on October 18th. They end on October 24th, before the Samsung Galaxy Fold6 Special Edition launches on October 25th. So maybe the September 25th leak hit the right day, just not the right month. At least if, as I said, it is a real leak.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold6 Special Edition, if that is indeed the final name, should be significantly larger with an 8-inch main display and a 6.5-inch cover display. Samsung is also planning a slimmer profile of 10.6 mm when folded and a significantly better 200 MP main camera than the Galaxy Z Fold6. The latter was launched in July. The S Pen should also be part of the package. Apparently, however, the foldable will only be sold in Korea and China – for whatever reason.
