Apple doesn’t advertise the exact battery capacities of its iPhones, so we always have to rely on other sources to get them. These include things like certifications from regulators, teardowns, and the like. The same goes for the newly announced Apple iPhone 16 series, but now we finally have the exact numbers courtesy of Brazilian regulator Anatel.

The iPhone 16 has a 3,561 mAh battery, 6.3% more than its predecessor. The iPhone 16 Plus relies on a 4,674 mAh cell, an increase of 6.6%. Finally, the iPhone 16 Pro has to make do with a 3,582 mAh battery, 9.4% more than the iPhone 15 Pro. Finally, 4,685 mAh power the iPhone 16 Pro Max, 5.5% more than the iPhone 15 Pro Max.

So there is a clear winner in terms of the increase compared to last year’s models. And that is the iPhone 16 Pro. But that doesn’t mean that the other devices don’t have very good battery life. On the one hand, the new 3 Nm A18 and A18 Pro chipsets further reduce energy consumption. On the other hand, the thermal improvements due to the internal design of the iPhone 16 Pro and Pro Max promise a longer lifespan than their predecessors. The small increases in pure battery capacities are on top of that.

In addition, all Apple iPhone 16 models now support at least 25 watt MagSafe charging. Provided, of course, that you buy one of Apple’s new MagSafe chargers. Which also has to be connected to a 30 watt power supply. It may therefore be more appropriate to use a fast USB-C charger, which can deliver up to 45 watts to the new iPhones.

The Apple iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro and iPhone 16 Pro Max are available worldwide starting today.
