Huawei Mate 70 Pro: New leak reveals design and specs
If the release of the Mate 60 last year is anything to go by, the Huawei Mate 70 series should be released soon. And even though the rumor mill has been rather quiet about the Mate 70 Pro so far, a new leak suggests that there will be some design and hardware changes compared to the Mate 60 Pro.
The leak is all about the back and the design of the camera module. The individual lenses are still aligned in a circle. The outer glass ring is thicker, however, and the LED flash has moved to the bottom of the ring. Below you can read the inscription “AI-DC”, which probably refers to the improved, AI-supported image processing.
The Huawei Mate 70 Pro has the new Kirin 9100 chipset at the helm, but the main camera also gets an upgrade. The resolution increases from 50 to 60 MP, so Huawei is likely to install a completely new sensor. The 12 MP ultrawide camera and the 48 MP periscope telephoto camera with five times optical zoom remain unchanged, at least on paper.
The selfie camera on the front also gets a makeover. The Mate 70 Pro will switch to a 48 MP sensor there. There will also be a 3D ToF sensor for advanced facial recognition, which replaces the old 32 MP sensor. The Huawei smartphones should hit the market in the fourth quarter of 2024.
