Redmi Pad SE 8.7 with IPS LCD display launches in Europe

If you’re looking for a new budget tablet under 10 inches, Xiaomi might have just announced the Redmi Pad SE 8.7. It comes in two variants, the first with Wi-Fi only and the second with cellular over LTE. Both are now coming to Europe, the UK and other markets, following the launch in India last month.

The Redmi Pad SE 8.7, as the name suggests, is built around an 8.7-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 800 x 1,340 pixels, a refresh rate of 90 Hz and an aspect ratio of 5:3. The panel manages a maximum brightness of up to 600 nits in outdoor mode and also has a 5 MP front camera. The screen is supported by two speakers with Dolby Atmos, but there is also a headphone jack.

On the back of the Pad SE 8.7 is the second camera with 8 MP. That’s enough for video recording at FullHD resolution. Both versions of the Xiaomi tablet come with MediaTek’s Helio G85 chipset with 4GB of RAM and 64/128GB of storage. There’s also an integrated microSD card slot for memory expansion. The software side is covered by Xiaomi HyperOS, which runs on Android 14. You also get a 6,650mAh battery with 18W charging support, but only a 10W charger in the box.
The Redmi Pad SE 8.7 is available in graphite gray, aurora green and sky blue. Prices for the 4/64GB Wi-Fi-only version start at €150/£120. The Xiaomi tablet with LTE costs €30/£30 more with the same RAM and storage.
