Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ and Tab S10 Ultra: Only 45w charging
This year there is a big change in Samsung’s flagship tablets. Both Galaxy Tab S10 models get a MediaTek Dimensity 9300+ chipset instead of the traditional Snapdragon chips. We deliberately say both because there will be no standard Tab S10 – this year Samsung is only building a Plus and an Ultra model. Other things will stay the same, however. And anyone who knows Samsung will already suspect it. The charging speed of the two tablets will remain at the usual manageable level for another year.
Last year’s Samsung Galaxy Tab S9, Tab S9+ and Tab S9 Ultra supported charging with 45 watts. A new certification from the Chinese 3C agency now shows that the Samsung Galaxy Tab S10+ (SM-X820) and the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra (SM-X926C) also stop at the usual 45 watts.
The certification also indicates that the Samsung tablets will be sold without chargers, which is no surprise. However, most households probably already have 45-watt USB PD chargers lying around somewhere anyway. According to 3C’s listing, the tablets require 10 volts and 4.5 amps. There is no information on battery capacity, but we don’t expect any major changes from the Tab S9 series.
Samsung hasn’t set an official date for the Galaxy Tab S10 series to be unveiled, but it’s currently expected to launch in October. We’ve already seen some renders of the Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, and it looks almost identical to the Tab S9 Ultra, at least on the outside.
