Apple Vision Pro: World tour from June 28th with visionOS 2, here are the prices
WWDC 2024 kicked off with the announcement of visionOS 2 – the first major software update for the Apple Vision Pro headset. Perhaps more importantly, the Vision Pro will finally launch in markets outside the US later this month. Initial sales will begin on June 28 in China, Hong Kong, Japan and Singapore. Germany, France, Australia, the UK and Canada will also be included, starting July 12.
Apple visionOS 2 brings a major update to the Photos app that uses machine learning to create a spatial photo from 2D images. This can be any image taken with a phone. With just a tap from the menu, the normal photo becomes a spatial image.
In addition, the virtual Mac display is getting wider – ultra-wide virtual monitors are coming later this year. Apple says these options are the equivalent of two 4K monitors side by side. Travel mode now works on train journeys in addition to airplane mode. SharePlay now supports Personas, so you can watch videos, collaborate on work, and collaborate in a virtual 3D space with other Apple Vision users.
Apple has also added a new tap gesture that takes you to the Vision Pro’s control center. Apple is working with Canon on a new spatial lens for its EOS R7 DSLR camera. Spatial videos can now be edited in Final Cut Pro and uploaded to the Vimeo app for visionOS. Apple Immersive Video, a special 180-degree 8K video format, is getting more partners, including RedBull and Black Magic.

Here are the prices for the Apple Vision Pro headset: it costs €4,000 in Germany and France, and £3,500 in the UK. In Australia, you pay AUD 6,000, in Canada CAD 5,000, in Singapore SGD 5,300, in Japan JPY 600,000, in Hong Kong HK 28,000, and in China CNW 30,000. There are also some optional costs, such as EUR 115 for Zeiss optical inserts and EUR 170 for the prescription version. Additionally, you can purchase a travel case for EUR 220 and AppleCare+ for EUR 550 per year.
The standard kit includes both a Solo Knit Band and a Dual Loop Band, a personalized light seal, a cover, a polishing cloth, a USB-C charging cable, and a power adapter. However, to adjust the light seal, you will need an iPhone or iPad with Face ID to scan your face. This is necessary to ensure that the headbands and light seal are the correct size and shape. And if you need the Zeiss prescription inserts, you can import your prescription data from Apple Health.
