Apple iPhone 16 Pro leak shows new capture button
A source of 91mobiles has leaked rough sketches of the Apple iPhone 16 Pro, showing the familiar design with a few minor changes. The report also includes the exact dimensions and suggests a larger display. As you can see, the capture button is also on board, a regular guest in the rumor mill right below the power button on the right side of the frame.
The button itself mimics the soft shutter buttons on cameras. A light press focuses the camera, while a full press takes a picture. Sony cell phones had shutter buttons like this many years ago.
In addition, the leak reports new dimensions – 149.6 x 71.4 x 8.4 mm. This means that the Apple iPhone 16 Pro will be a little taller and a little wider. The dimensions also confirm a previous report that the 16 Pro will launch with a 6.3-inch display, versus a 6.1-inch panel on the iPhone 15 Pro. Additionally, the sketches show some narrow bezels, so we may actually see a larger iPhone 16 Pro.
The decision to make the smaller Pro larger this year could be due to design limitations. Rumors are circulating that the Apple iPhone 16 Pro will adopt the tetraprism telephoto camera from last year’s iPhone 15 Pro Max and the hardware may not fit in the current iPhone 15 Pro.
Interestingly, this report appears to be in direct contradiction to a leaked image from February showing a vertical camera module. However, we are still a long way from the actual release of the iPhone 16 series in September, so you should take the current leaks with caution for now.
