vivo X Fold 3: Big leak with images and technical data
We have already seen several leaks and teasers for the upcoming vivo X Fold 3 and X Fold 3 Pro. The two foldables are expected to launch later this month and a major leak today has revealed detailed specs and several official images.
Among other things, the vivo X Fold 3 series will be quite thin and light. According to one of the images, the foldables are even thinner when unfolded than the vivo X5 Max from 2015. The X5 Max still holds the record for the thinnest cell phone in the world at 5.1 mm. In addition, both X Fold 3 models are waterproof according to the IPX8 standard.
In addition, the vivo X Fold 3 Pro is said to be the first foldable smartphone with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The base model is expected to rely on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 instead.
The series will bring 8.03-inch Samsung E7 AMOLED main displays with 2K resolution, 3,000 nits peak brightness and dual ultrasonic fingerprint sensors. The cover display has a size of 6.53 inches.
The camera system of the two foldables is also impressive. In addition to a 50 megapixel main camera, there is also a 50 megapixel ultra wide and a 64 megapixel periscope telephoto camera on board, all of which have OIS. That would be another first – the first optically stabilized ultrawide camera.
The foldables will also get vivo’s in-house V3 imaging chip, while the software is OriginOS 4 based on Android 14. The battery has a capacity of 5,500 mAh and charges via cable with 120 watts and wirelessly with 50 watts. According to rumors, the vivo X Fold 3 costs CNY 7,999 (€1,018/$1,113), while the Pro starts at CNY 9.999 (€1.272/$1.391).
