Samsung Galaxy S24 series: Second update with March security patch
Samsung has been keeping its software updates up to date for some time now. This also includes the Galaxy S24 series, which is now getting the second new firmware after the first camera update last month. The download is currently underway for Galaxy S24 users in Europe and the relatively short changelog primarily contains security and stability improvements. On the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra, the new firmware reaches a size of 756 MB, although there are also reports of smaller packages.
The big change in the Samsung Galaxy S24 update is the March security patch. If you have a Galaxy S24 in Europe and have not yet seen a notification, you can search for the new firmware manually as usual. To do this, simply go to the “Settings” menu and start the manual search under “Software Update”.
Samsung Galaxy M15 appears in official looking images
Tipster Evan Blass has shared three images of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy M15. The phone looks exactly like the Galaxy A15 and A15 5G, which were launched back in December.
According to previous rumors, the Samsung Galaxy M15 has a 6,000 mAh battery, just like its predecessor Galaxy M14 last year. The rest of the specs of the Samsung Galaxy M15 are likely to be very similar to the A15 5G. This includes a 6.5-inch AMOLED display with an FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90 Hz. You can also expect a 50 megapixel main camera and a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset.
Samsung Galaxy Ring will not be compatible with iOS devices
There was some bad news during a panel at this year’s Mobile World Congress with Samsung Vice President Hon Pak. At least for owners of Apple iPhones – the phones will not be compatible with the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Ring. A pretty bold move from Samsung.
Hon Pak said Samsung is confident in the product and recognizes the Android/iOS issue. However, their own devices are no worse than Apple’s, so there are very good reasons for switching to the Samsung ecosystem. He also added that Samsung is working on integration with other Android devices, not just Samsung phones.
Since the Samsung Galaxy Ring comes in different sizes, the smallest models use a 14 mAh battery, while the larger models are powered by a 21.5 mAh cell. This means that the rings should have a battery life of 5-9 days. The actual launch date of the Galaxy Ring is not yet known. Rumor has it that it will appear at the Unpacked event in July alongside the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold6 and Galaxy Z Flip6.
