Only vivo X Fold 3 Pro gets Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset

According to a leak from yesterday, the vivo X Fold 3 was supposed to be the first foldable with a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset from Qualcomm. Today, the tipster clarified that this is the Pro model of the vivo phone. There will also be a non-Pro variant, simply called the X Fold 3, which will instead run on its predecessor, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.

The vivo X Fold 3 Pro also has a flagship camera setup. In addition to a 50 megapixel main camera, there is also a 50 megapixel ultra wide lens on board. For zoom shots, you get a 64 megapixel telephoto camera with a periscope lens.
The normal vivo X Fold 3 will instead have three 50 megapixel cameras – a main camera, an ultrawide and also a telephoto camera. The latter, however, should rely on a normal telephoto lens with a double optical zoom. According to the report, the digital zoom reaches a factor of up to 40. The folding phone retains the promised thin profile and the light housing, making it the thinnest foldable on the market.
The two vivo foldable phones are expected to launch later this month. It may well be that the presentation will take place together with the vivo Pad 3 and Pad 3 Pro tablets, but there are hardly any leaks about them yet. An official date for the event is still missing.
