Xiaomi 14 Ultra: camera kit with external battery confirmed
According to reports, Xiaomi is currently working hard on its next camera smartphone – the Xiaomi 14 Ultra with the new Sony LYT-900 sensor. The smartphone has already received several certifications and the alleged market launch at the end of the first quarter of 2024 is right around the corner. This includes BIS certification for the Indian market. Today, however, a completely different indication of the impending start emerged. The Chinese 3C authority has added the Xiaomi Wireless Professional Camera Kit with model number 2402CPS69C to its database.
According to the 3C, the Xiaomi 14 Ultra camera kit has a maximum input voltage of 5V and a capacity of 2,000mAh. The certification also suggests that the wireless camera grip could also double as a power bank. This is supported by the fact that values for the maximum output power of 5 V and 1,500 mAh also appear in the document. However, there is no mention of a power supply. With the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the wireless camera handle came onto the market together with the smartphone. The price at the time was CNY 799 (€103/$112), but Xiaomi never sold the camera kit globally.
For the Xiaomi 13 Ultra, the camera set includes a 67 mm adapter ring, a camera grip with an integrated shutter button, a lens cover and a carrying strap. The wireless camera grip works with the Bluetooth 5.0 protocol to connect the Xiaomi 13 Ultra wirelessly. There is also a USB-C port for charging. In addition to a two-stage shutter release, you can also change the zoom level using the handle.
The Xiaomi 14 Ultra camera kit is likely to appear next at the Bluetooth SIG. The first international certifications should also follow soon.
