Xiaomi Poco M6 5G with Dimensity 6100+ and 8 GB RAM unveiled
The Xiaomi Poco M6 5G made its official debut in India today. It is based on a MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ chipset with 4, 6 or 8 GB of RAM, for which you can activate an additional 8 GB of virtual RAM. The 6.74-inch LCD display has a resolution of 720 x 1,600 pixels, a refresh rate of 90 Hz and a peak brightness of up to 600 nits. There is also Gorilla Glass protection, although Xiaomi does not mention the version.
128 or 256 GB of UFS 2.2 storage is also on board and can be expanded using the microSD slot. Other highlights include dual SIM functionality, a 3.5 mm headphone jack and a side-mounted fingerprint sensor. The 5,000 mAh battery supports 18 watt fast charging.
Xiaomi has installed a 50 megapixel main camera in the Poco M6 5G, but nothing is known about other sensors. There is dust and splash protection as well as Android 13 with Xiaomi’s MIUI 14 interface. If all this sounds familiar – the M6 is actually a renamed Redmi 13C 5G for the international markets. Of course, the design of the back is a little different with the Poco accents. Apart from that, the two Xiaomi phones seem to be identical.
Prices for the Xiaomi Poco M6 5G in Galactic Black and Orion Blue colors start at INR 10,499 (€115/$126) for the base model with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage. You pay INR 11,499 (€125/$138) for the 6/128 GB version and INR 13,499 (€147/$162) for the top model with 8/256 GB. But there is also a deal with a major bank that brings the price down to INR 9,499. According to Poco, this makes it the cheapest 5G smartphone ever launched in India. The first sale will take place on December 26th.
