Today was a day full of smartphone announcements. Oppo introduced the Reno11 series, ZTE introduced the nubia Red Magic 9 Pro and 9 Pro+ and the Honor 100 series also saw the light of day. There are two models: The Honor 100, the first Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 phone, and the 100 Pro. Both smartphones charge with a fast 100 watts and have a tailor-made RF-C1 chip for better call quality in difficult conditions.

Honor 100

The Honor 100 is 7.8mm thin and is based on a 6.7-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1220p and an under-display fingerprint scanner. The new Qualcomm chipset has a Cortex-A715 main core with up to 3.15 GHz, three additional cores with 2.4 GHz and four efficient Cortex-A510 cores with 1.8 GHz.

The back is dominated by the 50 megapixel main camera with a Sony IMX906 sensor, an f/1.95 aperture and OIS. There is also a 12 megapixel ultra-wide lens with a 112-degree field of view. The selfie camera has another 50 megapixel sensor and an f/2.1 lens.

The C1 chip determines the best cell tower nearby. The Honor 100 can also seamlessly switch to Wi-Fi when the signal is better. This means that the connection quality should be significantly better on high-speed train journeys as well as in the subway and in elevators. Honor provides the appropriate 100 watt charger for the 5,000 mAh battery. NFC, Honor Histen Sound and MagicOS 7.2 based on Android 13 are also on board.

Honor 100 Pro

The Honor 100 Pro features a slightly larger 6.78-inch OLED display and a more powerful Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset. In addition to the 50 megapixel main camera and the 12 megapixel ultrawide, there is a 32 megapixel telephoto camera with OIS, which, according to Honor, achieves up to 50x digital zoom.

The Honor 100 Pro’s 5,000 mAh battery is identical, as is its 100 watt charging power. The Pro also has 66 watts of fast wireless charging, which takes 42 minutes for 100%. Appropriate cooling is provided by a VC cooling solution with a total area of 4,674 mm². It is contained in a component that is only 0.35 mm thin and is 30% lighter than conventional VC copper. The rest of the specifications correspond to the non-Pro – Bluetooth 5.3, Wi-Fi 6, the C1 chip and Android 13 with MagicOS 7.2.

Honor 100 prices

Prices for the Honor 100 start at CNY 2,499 (€320/$350) for the 12/256GB version. There are four color options: black, white, blue or purple. The Honor smartphone can already be ordered via Honor China.
