Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate charges with 65 watts again
Asus’ latest gaming smartphones should launch sometime in 2024. Today, the first certification for the upcoming top model, the Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, appeared on the Internet. According to the Chinese 3C agency listing, it will load quickly, but not particularly fast.
Because the fast charge rate is still stuck at 65 watts. That’s the same speed like on the predecessors Asus ROG Phone 7 and ROG Phone 7 Ultimate. The 3C certification list also shows support for the PPS PD3.0 standard and the QC5 protocol for the ROG Phone 8 Ultimate with the model code ASUS_AI2401_A. Apart from that, as expected, the ROG Phone 8 (ASUS_AI2401_A) and the ROG Phone 8 Pro (ASUS_AI2401_E) are also on the way. An entry in the IMEI database revealed this already a few days ago.
The Asus ROG Phone 8 Ultimate, like the rest of the series, should launch with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. Plenty of RAM and a high refresh rate AMOLED display are also safe bets. On the software side, the Asus smartphone will offer the latest Android 14 with the Asus ROG interface on top. No more technical data is currently known. But the next teasers and leaks shouldn’t be long in coming.
