New Apple Pencil with USB-C introduced

Apple today announced its latest Apple Pencil with USB-C. With a starting price of €95/$79/£79, the new stylus sits between the first generation (€119/$99) and the more powerful second generation model (€149/$129).

Although the new Apple Pencil charges via USB-C for the first time, it does not support wireless charging or pairing. The hover function of the M2 iPad Pro models, however, is on board. Once you’ve finished your self-portrait, you can attach the pen magnetically to the side of your Apple tablet.

However, one not entirely unimportant feature is missing – the new stylus does not have pressure sensitivity, which is present in both the first and second generation Apple Pencil models. There is also low latency for a responsive workflow and tilt sensitivity.
The new USB-C Apple Pencil measures 7.5 x 155 mm and weighs 20.5 grams, making it almost identical to the second generation model. The global market launch is at the beginning of November. The pen is compatible with the following iPads:
- iPad (2022)
- iPad Air (2022)
- iPad Air (2020)
