Klarna is now available in France and Italy as a “Buy now, pay later” option when using Apple Pay. With this financing option, you can pay for your purchase in monthly installments, with the shortest payment plans being interest-free.

Eligible customers can split their purchases into three monthly installments or pay interest-free for up to 30 days. For higher-value purchases with longer payment terms, Klarna states it offers competitive interest rates.

Apple Pay Later is not yet available in Germany

Klarna was already available via Apple Pay in the US, Canada, the UK, Denmark, Spain, and Sweden, so eight countries are now supported. As you can see, Germany is still not on the list.

Apple discontinued its own “Buy now, pay later” service last year and instead partners with third-party providers such as Klarna, Affirm, and Synchrony. The availability of these providers varies by country.

When paying with Apple Pay online and in apps, you can choose the ‘Other cards & payment options’ on iPhone and iPad to use installment plans from Klarna and other financing partners, if available. From iOS 26 the “Buy now, pay later” option is also available for purchases in brick-and-mortar stores.
