Xiaomi 17 Max with 200 MP main camera and 8,000 mAh Si-C battery is here
The fourth member of the Xiaomi 17 series is here: The Xiaomi 17 Max does without the second display of the Pro Max model on the back and instead offers a higher resolution 200 MP main camera as well as a larger 8,000 mAh SiC battery.
According to Xiaomi, the 17 Max should last for over two days with normal use. The battery is said to retain up to 80% of its capacity even after 1,600 charging cycles, which equates to over four years of daily use. It supports charging up to 100 watts via cable and 50 watts wirelessly. The smartphone can also charge other devices at up to 22.5 watts via reverse charging.
Inside the Xiaomi 17 Max is Qualcomm’s flagship Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip, combined with up to 16 GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512 GB of UFS 4.1 storage.
Furthermore, the Xiaomi 17 Max features a generously sized 6.9-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 2,608 × 1,200 pixels and a 120 Hz refresh rate. The panel offers a peak brightness of up to 3,500 nits and is equipped with a 32-megapixel selfie camera and an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner.
On the back is the aforementioned 200MP main camera with Samsung’s HP9 sensor. It supports a dynamic range of up to 13.5 EV, an aperture of ƒ/1.65, and OIS. This is complemented by a 50MP telephoto lens with 3x zoom, which also enables macro photography. The third and final camera is a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens with a focal length of 17mm (35mm equivalent).
The software is based on HyperOS 3 with Android 16 as the operating system. Furthermore, the Xiaomi smartphone boasts full IP68 and IP69 protection against ingress and foreign object penetration.
Xiaomi 17 Max prices
The Xiaomi 17 Max is available in black, white, and blue. Prices in China start at 4,799 CNY (609 euros/705 US dollars) for the 12 GB storage/256 GB RAM version and go up to 5,799 CNY (735 euros/853 US dollars) for the top model with 16 GB storage/512 GB RAM.
