Xiaomi 17T series arrives on May 28th

The speculation is over: The Xiaomi 17T series will officially launch on May 28th. Xiaomi confirmed the release date for its upcoming 17T and 17T Pro smartphones, describing them as “the biggest upgrade to the T series yet.”

We’ve already seen some leaks about the 17T series, including official renderings and detailed specifications. Both smartphones are expected to be equipped with MediaTek chipsets, with the 17T receiving a Dimensity 8500 Ultra, while the 17T Pro will likely have the flagship Dimensity 9500 chip under the hood.

The Pro version will also be equipped with a larger 6.83-inch AMOLED display with FHD+ resolution and a 144 Hz refresh rate, while the standard model will have a 6.59-inch AMOLED display, also with FHD+ and 120 Hz.

Xiaomi 17T series with 50 MP Light Fusion cameras

Both smartphones will feature a 50MP main camera. Rumors suggest the 17T will be equipped with a Light Fusion 800 sensor, while the 17T Pro is expected to have a Light Fusion 950 sensor. The two additional cameras are identical on both Xiaomi smartphones – a 50MP telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom and a 12MP ultrawide lens.

Regarding the battery, the base model is expected to launch with a 6,500 mAh cell and 67 watt charging power, while the 17T Pro is rumored to have a larger 7,000 mAh cell with 100 watt wired charging and 50 watt wireless charging.

Rumours suggest that the Xiaomi 17T with 12/256 GB will cost from €749 ($878) in Europe, while the Xiaomi 17T Pro with 12/512 GB is expected to be offered from €999 ($1,170).
