Honor has suddenly found itself at the forefront of humanoid robot technology – the company unveiled its first model at the MWC, and just a few months later another Honor Robot won the “Humans vs. Robots” half marathon.

A half marathon is 21 km (13 miles) long, and the 2025 edition was a triumph for Homo sapiens. Only 6 of the 21 participating robots reached the finish line; most stumbled or overheated. The winning robot took 2 hours and 40 minutes, twice as long as the human winner.

This year, the Honor Robot completed the course in record time, reaching the finish line in just 50 minutes and 26 seconds. This not only beat the human winner’s time by more than 10 minutes, but also shattered the world record of 56 minutes and 42 seconds, set last year by the Ugandan Jacob Kiplimo.

Honor Robot with autonomous navigation

This half marathon is not only a test of the robots’ mobility and endurance, but also of their navigation – 40% of the participating robots navigated autonomously, the rest were remotely controlled.

The Honor Robot, among the autonomously navigating robots, achieved a convincing victory – one won gold, another silver, and a third bronze. The Tiangong Ultra 2026 and Unitree H1 robots also participated.

China is actively promoting innovation and development in the field of humanoid robots. Currently, various applications for such robots are being tested, including factory workers, household assistants, and even soldiers on the battlefield.
