The HMD 106 Pure only offers basic GSM connectivity and only in regions where the 2G networks have not yet been shut down.

The HMD 106 Pure is here, with a similar design to the HMD 101. However, it’s powered by a different chipset, the Unisoc 6531E. It still only offers basic GSM connectivity – meaning it can’t be used in regions where 2G networks have already been shut down or are about to be. This is likely why it has only been spotted in Pakistan so far.

The Unisoc 6531E chipset is also used in other models, such as the HMD 102. However, the 102 has a camera, which only has a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.

This basic feature phone also has some functions that are sometimes missing even in flagship smartphones. These include, of course, the 3.5 mm headphone jack (with FM radio receiver) and the microSD card slot (for memory cards up to 32 GB).

The remaining technical specifications are quickly summarized. The phone has a QQVGA display, which corresponds to a resolution of 120 x 160 pixels. It runs on S30+, like most other HMD feature phones. And it has a 1,000 mAh battery, which is almost exactly the same as the battery in the Honor Watch 6.

HMD 106 Pure price

The HMD 106 Pure is extremely affordable – it costs only 3,250 PKR, which is equivalent to 10 euros/12 US dollars.

The shop only offers it in dark grey and turquoise green, but also shows a blue version.
