Redmi Note 15 Special Edition with different camera and battery before launch

Xiaomi India has been teasing a Redmi Note 15 Special Edition for a week. The company has now confirmed some key technical specifications that differentiate it from the regular Redmi Note 15 Special Edition – this information is being released at the last minute, as the smartphone launches on Thursday, April 2nd.

According to the official landing page the smartphone will be available in a new vegan leather look if you opt for the red-gold “Crimson Reserve” color (7.82 mm thick). The more common colors Carbon Black (7.35 mm) and Frosted White (7.4 mm) will also be available.

The Redmi Note 15 Special Edition features a 50 MP camera with 4K video recording. The global model, however, has a 108 MP camera, while the Chinese model also has a 50 MP camera.

However, the Chinese model uses a tiny 1/2.88-inch sensor, which doesn’t really fit the “Special Edition” label. The three color options, however, closely resemble the New Year Cherry Red Edition as well as the Midnight Black and Starlight White colors of the Chinese model.
Redmi Note 15 Special Edition with a slightly larger battery
The Xiaomi smartphone features a 5,800 mAh battery that is supposed to last up to 44 hours on a single charge and function flawlessly for up to 5 years. This corresponds to the chinese model, since the global Redmi Note 15 has a 5,520 mAh battery. Both devices charge at 45 watts.
Both versions are powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, and the Special Edition will also be equipped with it.
Xiaomi will launch the Redmi Note 15 Special Edition on Thursday, April 2nd, in collaboration with Flipkart.
