The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is expected to launch soon in China and other global markets. Although the company hasn’t released any details about the upcoming smartphone, several leaks have already surfaced online. The latest leak reveals information about the smartphone’s 10x periscope telephoto camera.

According to the leaker Digital Chat Station The Oppo Find X9 Ultra’s 10x periscope telephoto camera will reportedly have a relatively large aperture of f/3.5, which should allow about three times as much light in as the 10x periscope telephoto camera of the Samsung Galaxy S23 Ultra.

The Galaxy S23 Ultra has a 10x periscope with an aperture of f/4.9 and is one of the last smartphones with such a large optical zoom, hence the comparison.

The tipster also claims that the Find X9 Ultra’s 10x periscope telephoto camera eliminates the need for an external teleconverter. Vivo is currently heavily promoting the latter in connection with the upcoming vivo X300 Ultra. According to DCS, the 200MP sensor under the second periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom also offers higher light sensitivity than comparable solutions on the market.

Oppo Find X9 Ultra with a total of 500 megapixels

Rumors suggest the Oppo Find X9 Ultra will be equipped with a 200MP main camera, a 200MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x zoom, a 50MP ultrawide sensor, and the aforementioned 50MP periscope telephoto camera with 10x optical zoom. This adds up to a total of half a gigapixel, as the rather large camera module already suggests.

Furthermore, the Oppo phone is said to feature a 6.82-inch AMOLED display, a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a large 7,050 mAh battery.
