vivo Y51 Pro 5G with 7,200 mAh battery and IP69 certification unveiled

vivo has unveiled a new Y-series smartphone in India: the vivo Y51 Pro 5G is here. The device is the successor to the vivo Y31 Pro 5G, which was launched in September of last year. The new model is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7360 Turbo chipset and features a 7,200 mAh battery.

The vivo Y51 Pro 5G is based on a 6.75 inch LCD display with a refresh rate of 120 Hz and an HD+ resolution.

The Dimensity 7360 Turbo chipset can be configured with up to 8 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 256 GB of internal UFS 3.1 storage.

On the back, you’ll find a fairly basic camera setup – besides a 50 MP main camera, there’s only a 2 MP depth sensor. For selfies and video calls, there’s an 8 MP front-facing camera. In addition, it features a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, stereo speakers, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.4, GPS, and a dual SIM slot.

It also features a large 7,200 mAh battery with support for 44-watt fast charging and is dustproof and waterproof according to IP68 and IP69 standards, and comes with the OriginOS 6 operating system based on Android 16. The vivo smartphone is 7.8 mm thick and weighs 219 g. It is available in the colors Festive Red and Elegant Gold.

As for pricing, the vivo Y51 Pro 5G starts at 24,999 INR (235 €/270 USD) for the model with 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. The variant with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage costs 27,999 INR (263 €/305 USD).
