Samsung Odyssey G9: 6K 3D gaming monitor without glasses is here
At CES 2026, Samsung unveiled revamped Odyssey gaming monitors, including five updated models with higher resolutions and refresh rates. The new 32-inch Samsung Odyssey G9 is a 6K 3D display capable of creating a 3D effect without glasses. According to Samsung, the monitor uses real-time eye tracking to adjust depth and perspective to the viewer’s position, creating a rich, immersive experience without the need for a headset.
The Samsung Odyssey G9 offers a 165Hz refresh rate, boosted to 330Hz in dual-screen mode, and a 1ms (gray-to-gray) response time for minimal motion blur and ghosting. According to Samsung, PC gamers gain access to an expanded selection of supported titles with 3D effects developed in collaboration with game studios. Whether the 3D functionality is also available for Macs is therefore still unclear.
Samsung Odyssey G9 without native 3D support
Either way, games will not natively support the 3D functionality of the Samsung Odyssey G9, and game developers must optimize their games for this technology. Early games with 3D support include The First Berserker: Khazan, Lies of P: Overture, and Stellar Blade. According to Samsung, players can expect an added dimension compared to traditional 2D gameplay, improving terrain, distances, and object separation.
The Samsung Odyssey G6 27-inch monitor offers a 600Hz refresh rate, which can be boosted to 1040Hz in dual-mode for competitive gaming. This allows gamers to track targets more accurately and see the finest details, even during fast-paced action. The G6 is compatible with AMD FreeSync Premium and Nvidia G-Sync.
There are also several new Odyssey G8 displays, including a 32-inch 6K model with a 165Hz refresh rate, a 27-inch 5K model with a 180Hz refresh rate, and a 32-inch OLED model with a 240Hz refresh rate.
