Samsung just presented its latest Samsung Galaxy Book6 notebooks at CES. The devices are powered by Intel Core Ultra Series 3 processors, the first processors built on Intel’s 18A manufacturing technology (1.8 nm). These new processors, along with a significantly improved cooling system, ensure that the laptops run longer and cooler in 2026.

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 series comprises three models: Basic, Pro, and Ultra. The Ultra model is only available in 16 inches, while the other two models are available with either a 14-inch or 16-inch display. The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro and the Galaxy Book6 Ultra feature Dynamic AMOLED 2X touchscreens. Their refresh rate can adjust between 30 Hz and 120 Hz depending on the content (animations, videos, games).

Gorilla Glass with DXC combines impact and scratch resistance with an anti-reflective coating – reducing surface reflections by up to 75%. The display is True Bright 1300 certified and offers True Black 0.0005 nits. For SDR content, you get up to 500 nits, while the peak brightness for HDR reaches up to 1000 nits.

The Intel Core Ultra 3 series features up to 16 cores (P and E cores), promising up to 60% higher CPU performance than the previous generation. It also includes an NPU with 50 TOPS.

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra can be configured with a Core Ultra X9, X9, X7, or X7 processor. In addition to the powerful Intel Arc GPUs (70% faster than the previous generation), an Nvidia GPU – a GeForce RTX 5060 or 5070 with 8 GB of GDDR7 – is also available.

The iGPU model features 32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM, while the models with an Nvidia GPU are available in three variants: 16 GB, 32 GB, and 64 GB. Storage options include a 512 GB, 1 TB, or 2 TB PCIe SSD and one free expansion slot.

Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro

The Galaxy Book6 Pro is equipped with an Intel Core Ultra X7, X7, or X5 processor and 16/32 GB of LPDDR5X RAM. The pre-installed PCIe SSD offers 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of storage capacity. The 16-inch model also features a free expansion slot.

The Samsung Galaxy Book 6 is a simpler model with an IPS LCD display (350 nits) and is available in 14″ and 16″ sizes. It can be configured with an older generation Core Ultra 7 or 5 processor and 16GB or 32GB of LPDDR5X RAM. Storage options include a 256GB, 512GB, or 1TB PCIe SSD, with expansion slots available for both sizes (note that the 14″ model can only accommodate a smaller 2230 SSD).

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Pro and Ultra models promise up to 30 hours of video playback on a single battery charge – 5 hours longer than their predecessors. The Ultra model also supports fast charging and reaches 63% battery charge in 30 minutes.

More precisely: The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra has an 80.20 Wh battery with 100-watt charging – 140 watts if you opt for a model with an Nvidia GPU. The Pro model has a 67.18 Wh battery (14-inch) or a 78.07 Wh battery (16-inch). Both support 65-watt charging (via USB-C). The standard model has a smaller 61.20 Wh battery with 45-watt charging.

Samsung designed these smartphones to be exceptionally slim and light – the Pro model even slimmer than the other two. The 14-inch Pro model is 11.6 mm thick and weighs 1.24 kg, while the 16-inch model is 11.9 mm thick and weighs 1.59 kg. The Ultra model is 15.4 mm thick and weighs 1.79 kg (or 1.89 kg with an Nvidia graphics card). The standard models are 14.9 mm thick and weigh 1.48 kg (14-inch) or 1.75 kg (16-inch). A touchscreen is available as an option, which increases the thickness (16.8 mm) and weight (1.85 kg).

The new 18A Intel chip in the Pro and Ultra laptops is equipped with a sophisticated and efficient cooling system. Both feature vapor chambers (the one in the Ultra is larger) with cooling fins – these improve cooling performance by 35% compared to the previous Galaxy Book generation. The redesigned fan also has a larger air intake grille for optimized airflow. The new cooling system lowers the temperature while simultaneously reducing noise levels.

The Samsung Galaxy Book6 Ultra also boasts a six-speaker audio system – two upward-firing tweeters and four vibration-damped woofers. The woofers are arranged back-to-back in pairs to compensate for vibrations and reduce distortion. Dolby Atmos is, of course, supported. The 16-inch Pro model features a similar system, but with only two woofers (the 14-inch model has a simpler two-speaker system).

For connectivity, the Pro and Ultra models feature two Thunderbolt 4 ports, one USB-A port, one HDMI 2.1 port (8K@60fps and 5K@120fps), and a combined headphone/microphone jack. An SD card reader is also included. Wireless connectivity is provided via Wi-Fi 7 (802.11be 2×2) and Bluetooth 5.4.

The standard Galaxy Book6 features two USB-C ports, two USB-A ports, an HDMI port, a headphone/microphone jack, and even an Ethernet port. The card slot is for the smaller microSD standard. Wi-Fi 7 is not included, but the notebook supports Wi-Fi 6e (ax 2×2) and Bluetooth 5.4.

Samsung will launch the Galaxy Book 6 series in select markets later this month. Pricing will be announced at that time. Enterprise Edition models will be available in select markets starting in April.
