Honor Watch 6 unveiled with a huge 980 mAh battery

The new Honor Watch 6 features a powerful 980 mAh battery that lasts up to 35 days with typical use. The watch also boasts a lighter and slimmer design, a brighter display, and improved health and fitness tracking features.

The Watch 6’s casing is made from a recycled aluminum alloy with 316L stainless steel elements. It weighs 41 g and is 10.8 mm thick – an impressive figure compared to the Honor Watch 5 Ultra, which is 11 g heavier (52 g), slightly thicker (11.4 mm), and has a battery capacity of only 480 mAh. 500 mAh is quite common for a 46 mm watch. With 980 mAh, the Honor even surpasses the Xiaomi Watch 5, which also has a large 930 mAh battery. However, the Xiaomi weighs 56 g and is 12.3 mm thick.

The Honor Watch 6 has a diameter of 46.5 mm and a 1.46-inch display with precisely crafted, beveled edges. Honor calls this design the “Racing Dashboard.” Unlike the Honor Watch 5, the display is round, which is why we compared it to the Ultra above. It is available in Twilight Brown (brown leather strap) or Shadow Black (black fluoroelastomer strap). Note: The weights listed do not include the strap.
The Honor Watch 6’s display reaches a peak brightness of 3,000 nits. You can personalize it with live photos and short videos (up to 10 seconds). And the touchscreen function even works with wet fingers, so you can go jogging in the rain.
You don’t even need the touchscreen to control the watch – Honor has developed wrist-twist gestures that allow you to mute alarms, manage calls and skip songs.
Honor Watch 6 is waterproof and offers a trail running mode
The smartwatch is IP69 waterproof and can be worn while swimming in the pool and at the beach. However, diving is not permitted. The watch supports over 120 sports modes with some standout features.

The trail running mode offers an AI coach with detailed elevation and distance data. In badminton mode, you receive reports on smash speed. In soccer mode, heat and match history maps are available.

Outdoor sports activities are recorded using the dual-band GPS “Six-Star” (meaning it supports six constellations, including Galileo and BeiDou). And while you’re out and about, you can pay with Mastercard and Visa using the NFC function.
The Quick Health Scan provides you with a comprehensive health analysis at any time, and you receive a clear health report every morning. Honor states that IntelliSense enables more precise and consistent signal acquisition compared to traditional PPG sensors (heart rate and blood oxygen sensors).
Please note that the Honor Watch 6, like other Honor watches, runs on Honor’s proprietary MagicOS and not Wear OS. It is compatible with Android smartphones (version 9.0 and later) and iOS smartphones (version 15.1 and later). The 4 GB of internal storage can be used, for example, to store maps.
