Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold and Exynos 2600 before launch
According to a new leak, the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold could be unveiled this month. However, it probably won’t be long enough for the Exynos 2600 chipset under the hood. At least mass production appears to be starting in September.
Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold could launch in September
Samsung has been working on its first triple-folding smartphone for some time, and reports indicate it’s already in mass production and has even appeared in the One UI 8 code. A new report from ET News suggests that the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold may be unveiled sooner than previously expected at a special Unpacked event later this month. The market launch would then take place in November.
Based on new information from the supply chain, Samsung has reduced its production estimates to just 50,000 units. This is significantly lower than previous estimates, which assumed at least 200,000 units of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold would be produced.
A first-generation device like the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is intended to test consumer demand for this form factor. Making matters worse is that Samsung’s TriFold will only be available in two markets – South Korea and China. Samsung is reportedly pursuing this limited production run to avoid distracting attention and jeopardizing demand for the Galaxy Z Fold7.
Samsung Exynos 2600: 2nm chipset is ready for mass production
The Samsung Exynos The 2600 chipset will be the world’s first mobile processor manufactured using the 2nm process. The company has already confirmed this much. A few days ago, another promising Geekbench test was added, and now a new report from Samsung’s home country of Korea claims that the chip is ready for mass production.
The delay appears to be due to Samsung not yet deciding whether the Exynos 2600 will be used in some or all models of the upcoming Galaxy S26 series. This decision is reportedly not expected until the fourth quarter of this year, between October and December.
We’ve already heard several times that the Samsung Exynos 2600 will herald the return of Exynos to Samsung’s flagship smartphones. If the company does indeed choose this path, it would be a major success for the company’s chip division after the disappointing Exynos 2500.
According to industry sources, it is very likely that the Exynos 2600 will be used in the Samsung Galaxy S26 series, at least in some markets. Samsung has developed a new cooling technology to solve the existing problems with heat generation in the chip. According to previous tests, the solution appears to work very well.
