Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7: New images and launch date
A Finnish online retailer today announced the storage and official color options for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7. Like the previous model, there will be three storage options: 256 GB, 512 GB, and 1 TB. The 256 GB and 512 GB versions will be available in Jet Black, Silver Shadow, and Blue Shadow. The top model with 1 TB of storage is only available in Jet Black and Blue Shadow.
However, as is usual with Samsung, these are only the official color options of the Galaxy Z Fold7 that will be available in retail stores. In the past, Samsung has also sold some exclusive colors exclusively through Samsung.com.
In this context, Android Headlines also published the corresponding renderings of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold7 in Blue Shadow and Jet Black. They show the slim profile of the Galaxy phone, which, according to rumors, is supposed to be between only 3.9 mm thick when unfolded. The weight is also expected to be a record-breaking 215 grams.
Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7 launch date
According to legendary leaker Evan Blass, Samsung’s next Unpacked event will take place on July 9 at 10:00 a.m. EDT (that’s 7:00 a.m. in LA, 3:00 p.m. in London, 4:00 p.m. in Paris and Berlin, 7:30 p.m. in India, and 11:00 p.m. in Korea). The use of this time zone in the leak also seems to confirm the supposed venue of New York City, although it is not explicitly mentioned.
First, it was rumored in early July, in mid -July, and now there is finally a specific date. Samsung’s summer event last year took place on July 10th.
At this year’s Unpacked in July, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy Z Fold7, the Galaxy Z Flip7, the Galaxy Watch 8, the Watch 8 Classic, the Galaxy Watch Ultra (2025), and possibly the Galaxy Z Flip7 FE. So, even though it’s called “Unpacked,” it’s sure to be packed with new products. We’re also expecting another look at the company’s first XR headset, which is rumored to debut in late September.
Samsung XR Headset could get teaser appearance
Samsung’s first XR headset, currently known as Project Moohan’s code name, has already been shown several times, but has not yet been official. According to a new report from Korea, the company has now set an appointment for the presentation: September 29. From October 13th, it should initially be available in Korea. Before that, however, it could get another teaser appearance, also at the unpacked event of the Galaxy Z Fold7 and Z Flip7.
Following its domestic launch, it will gradually be rolled out in other countries. It will be the first headset to run Android XR, a version of Android specifically designed for such headsets. Android XR itself was first announced last year and is being jointly developed by Google and Samsung, following their successful collaboration on recent versions of Wear OS.
Android XR, of course, features Google’s Gemini AI. The Samsung headset uses the XR+ Gen 2 chipset from Qualcomm, which apparently is manufactured by Samsung themselves using a 4nm process.
