In addition to the extremely high refresh rate, the Honor Win2 series also supports a touch sampling rate of 5,000 Hz and a notification rate of 520 Hz.

The Honor Win2 series is about to launch and will include a base model, a Win2 RT, and a Win2 Turbo. In addition to high-performance batteries, which are becoming increasingly common in Chinese smartphones, they will also feature active cooling systems. The standard model is expected to be equipped with a 10,100 mAh battery, while the top-of-the-line RT model will boast an even larger 12,070 mAh battery.

While we await the release next week, Honor continues to tease its new phones. The latest teaser, however, comes from Visionox, a display panel manufacturer. According to a post on Weibo, all three Honor Win2 phones will feature the world’s first 2K display with a 185Hz refresh rate.

Visionox explains that most manufacturers compromise on resolution in favor of a higher refresh rate, but the company worked closely with Honor to develop a panel that doesn’t have to make any compromises.

In addition to its extremely high refresh rate, the panel supports an instant touch sampling rate of 5,000 Hz and a 520 Hz response rate for ten-finger touch. The bezels are only 0.93 mm thin on all four sides, and the 5,920 Hz PWM dimming ensures a comfortable viewing experience even during long gaming sessions.

The manufacturer’s intention is clear: the Honor Win2 series is designed to offer uncompromising gaming performance, thanks in part to the new Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chipset. However, a high refresh rate alone isn’t everything. For one thing, standard apps don’t support such high refresh rates at all, and for another, most games don’t even reach 185 Hz.

Honor Win2 AnTuTu Test

Furthermore, the Honor Win2 with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 chip has appeared in an AnTuTu benchmark test. A prototype device with the same model number, BRM-AN00, was tested with AnTuTu v12 and achieved 5,702,964 points, as can be seen in the image below.

The Honor smartphone achieves 1,502,737 points in the CPU test, 2,072,221 points in the GPU test, 755,729 points in the memory test, and 1,372,277 points in the UX test. The results also confirm the previously mentioned 185 Hz refresh rate for the display, as well as LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage.

The outstanding result is not surprising when you combine Qualcomm’s latest and most powerful chipset with an active fan. The gaming phone, along with the Win RT2 and Turbo2, will launch in China on October 21st.
