Honor Magic9 Pro Max with 200MP ARRI camera and SD 8 Elite Gen 6 Extreme chip is here

The Honor Magic9 Pro Max is here, Honor’s new top-of-the-line smartphone and Android flagship for 2026. It features a Snapdragon 8 Elite Extreme Gen 6 processor, dual 200MP cameras, and a powerful 8,800mAh Si-C battery with 100W wired fast charging and 80W wireless fast charging. Thanks to Honor’s new partnership with German camera manufacturer ARRI, it also positions itself as a professional video camera.

The Honor Magic9 Pro Max’s camera setup is led by a new 200-megapixel main camera with a 23mm focal length, a 1/1.28-inch sensor, and an f/1.6 aperture. It’s complemented by a 200-megapixel periscope telephoto lens with an 85mm equivalent focal length, a 1/1.4-inch sensor, and 3.7x optical zoom. The third camera is a 50-megapixel 12mm ultrawide camera.

Both the main and telephoto lenses feature CIPA 8.0 gimbal-level image stabilization. All three sensors benefit from ARRI image technology and offer ARRI color profiles and cinematic video filters.

The filters alter the camera’s color correction with a single tap to emulate the look of ARRI cinema cameras. Additionally, you get ARRI LogC3 Curve recording capabilities with full 10-bit color depth, as well as the ability to record in the ARRI Wide Gamut 3 color space.

Aside from its high-quality cameras, the Honor Magic9 Pro Max features a 6.8-inch LTPO OLED display with a resolution of 1,320 x 2,868 pixels and a variable refresh rate of 1–120 Hz. It achieves a global peak brightness of 2,000 nits and an impressive local peak brightness of 10,000 nits, although this is only reached at a single point during HDR video playback. Honor also touts an improved NanoCrystal Shield screen protector with additional silicon nitride layers and an anti-reflective coating.
The operating system is Honor’s MagicOS 11, based on Android 17. It also features water and dust resistance according to the IP69K standard.
