Honor MagicOS 11 with Liquid Glass and more powerful AI is here

Honor unveiled its interpretation of Android 17, MagicOS 11, at its Global Developer Conference. The operating system boasts an iOS-inspired Liquid Glass design, developed by Honor using its proprietary Luminous and Hummingbird architectures. These optimize the user interface, AI processing, and hardware performance.

Honor claims that despite its sleek new design, MagicOS 11 offers up to 20% faster system animations compared to MagicOS 10. The new system also includes updated icons, menu items, widgets, and customizable colors for the home screen and dock icons.

The second major innovation is the updated AI assistant, Yoyo. It’s configured for over 1,000 scenarios and offers integration with over 10,000 third-party AI services (at least in China). Honor even states that its AI assistant can perform tasks over a distance of up to 100 steps.
Storage Space 2.0 promises lossless compression of stored data and frees up to 60 GB of storage space. Furthermore, MagicOS 11 enables seamless file sharing and connectivity with devices in the Apple ecosystem, as well as with devices from Oppo, vivo, and Xiaomi.
MagicOS 11 launches on Honor Magic9 series
MagicOS 11 will premiere on the upcoming Honor Magic9 series smartphones. The public beta version is already available for over 18 devices, including the Magic8 series, the Magic V6, and the Honor 600 and 600 Pro.
A second list of eligible devices that can register for the internal beta includes the Magic6 series, Magic V3, and the Honor 400 and Honor 500 series. The next wave of devices is expected to be added between October and November.
