vivo G3 is here, vivo X300 in Geekbench test and T4 Pro gets telecam
The Chinese company vivo, the fourth largest mobile phone manufacturer in the world behind Samsung, Apple and Xiaomi, continues to be busy. The latest addition is the vivo G3, while the teaser campaign for the vivo T4 Pro has launched, and the vivo X300 has appeared in a Geekbench test.
vivo G3 with 6,000 mAh battery introduced
The vivo G3 is here, the official successor to the G2 from January 2024. The smartphone features a 6.74-inch LCD display with 720 x 1,600 pixels and a 90 Hz refresh rate, a 13 MP main camera, a 5 MP selfie camera, and a 6,000 mAh battery with 44 watt charging function.
The vivo G3 is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with 6 or 8 GB of RAM and 128 or 256 GB of storage. It measures 167.3 x 76.95 x 8.19 mm and weighs 204 g. It features a side-mounted capacitive fingerprint scanner integrated into the power button.
In China, the vivo G3 is only available in black for CNY 1,499 (178 euros/208 US dollars) with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage, and for 1,999 CNY (238 euros/278 US dollars) with 8 GB RAM and 256 GB storage. Whether the vivo G3 will target other markets is not yet known.
vivo T4 Pro gets telephoto camera
Vivo is also preparing to launch the T4 Pro in India. While the company hasn’t yet announced a launch date for the smartphone, it will be available through Indian retailer Flipkart. The vivo T4 Pro will feature a flagship-level periscope telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom and numerous AI features. The design of the camera island is similar to the also brand-new vivo V60 and X200 FE, thus following vivo’s new design language.
The T4 Pro is reportedly 7.53 mm thin and features a quad-curved display. It will apparently be available in Blaze Gold and Nitro Blue. It is powered by the Snapdragon 7 Gen 4 chipset and is said to have a large battery despite its slim profile.
According to a recent rumor, the vivo T4 Pro uses Sony’s IMX882 sensor for its periscope telephoto camera, just like the aforementioned V60 and X200 FE models. It would be the sixth member of the T4 series after the T4, T4x, T4 Ultra, T4 Lite and T4R.
vivo X300: Geekbench test with Dimensity 9500 chipset
And there’s also news about the next flagship series. The vivo X300 is expected to launch in the fourth quarter of this year (October to December) and is likely to also include the X300 Pro and X300 Pro mini. The base model has now been discovered in the Geekbench database. The benchmark test confirms that the smartphone will use MediaTek’s upcoming Dimensity 9500 chipset, which MediaTek is expected to unveil in September.
The vivo X300 prototype with the model number V2509A also had a whopping 16 GB of RAM installed and ran the latest Android 16 operating system. Overall, this was enough for a single-core score of 2,352 points and a multi-core score of 7,129 points in Geekbench version 6.3.0 for Android. However, this was likely an early vivo X300 prototype, far from production performance. For comparison: The direct competitor, the Samsung Galaxy S26 Edge, powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite 2 chip, achieved 3,393 single-core and 11,515 multi-core points in the Geekbench test, almost twice as many.
Interestingly, the benchmark run shows that the Dimensity 9500’s CPU has a 4.21 GHz primary core, three 3.5 GHz performance cores, and four 2.7 GHz efficiency cores, while the GPU is called Mali-G1 Ultra MC12.
