Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Unpacked event starts on July 22nd: Reservations open and new images

Samsung has officially announced the date for its next Galaxy Unpacked event, where the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip8 are expected to be unveiled. In a press release, the company confirmed that the Galaxy Unpacked event will take place on July 22nd in London, UK.

Samsung also released a teaser video with the slogan “A new form unfolds,” hinting at the upcoming wide foldable smartphone, which is expected to be launched as the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8.
The event will be streamed live on Samsung’s official YouTube channel and website starting at 2:00 PM BST (9:00 AM EDT, 3:00 PM CEST). Customers can also pre-order the upcoming foldable smartphones via Samsung’s official website.
Reservations for Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 are now open
Now that Samsung has confirmed the date for the Galaxy Unpacked event as July 22nd, pre-orders for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 and Z Flip8 models have been opened. As always, you can simply register and wait to make your final purchase decision until the devices are available.

This year, Samsung is holding back somewhat with its pre-order offers. The reservation offer includes a $30 voucher redeemable for accessories and other products in the official Samsung Store. However, this voucher is only valid with the purchase of one of the upcoming foldable smartphones. By comparison, last year’s offer was $50.
Furthermore, Samsung advertises total savings of up to $1,230, taking into account eligible trade-ins and other promotions, which can vary greatly depending on the purchase and the device you wish to trade in.
Last year, one lucky customer won a $5,000 Samsung.com voucher in the lottery. This year, Samsung is splitting the prize into ten parts, with each winner receiving a $500 voucher.
New Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, Fold8 Ultra, Flip8, Watch9 and Watch Ultra2 renderings leaked
Samsung recently confirmed that its next Unpacked event will take place on July 22nd in London. Ahead of the event, leaks have surfaced today revealing what appear to be official renderings of all the smartphones and smartwatches expected to be unveiled there.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8
We start with the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, the wide foldable smartphone designed to directly compete with Apple’s upcoming iPhone Ultra.

It will be available in cream, graphite, and lavender, with pistachio being exclusive to the Samsung online store. Rumors suggest the Fold8 will feature a 5.5-inch external display and a 7.6-inch main display in a 4:3 aspect ratio. Weighing in at only about 200 grams, it will be extremely lightweight for a foldable smartphone.

It is said to be 4.5 mm thick when unfolded and 9.7 mm thick when folded. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, combined with 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of storage. The battery capacity is rumored to be 4,800 mAh.
Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is the successor to the Galaxy Z Fold7. It is rumored to be available in white, black, and purple, and a green version will probably only be available in the Samsung online shop.

The design is very similar to that of the Galaxy Z Fold7. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra is also powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 and features 12 GB of RAM and 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB of internal storage. The 5,000 mAh battery supports 45-watt fast charging. The main camera has a 200 MP resolution, a 10 MP telephoto camera with 3x optical zoom is also integrated, and the ultra-wide-angle camera offers 50 MP.

Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 8
The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip8 will be available in cream, graphite, and pink. A mint green version is also planned (though not pictured) and could be offered exclusively in the Samsung online store. The Flip8 looks strikingly similar to the Flip7. It will be powered by the Exynos 2600, at least in some markets. Rumors suggest the Flip8 weighs 180g and has a 4,300mAh battery.

It is said to use the same cameras as its predecessor, and the same could also apply to the displays.

Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2
The Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra2 will be available in a 47mm size and in the two colors shown here.

Samsung Galaxy Watch9
The Samsung Galaxy Watch9, on the other hand, will be available in 40 mm and 44 mm sizes and in the three colors shown: cream, graphite and green.

According to the latest leaks, all these devices will be more expensive compared to their predecessors.
