Apple iPhone Ultra: Launch before Christmas starting at $2,300
Rumors suggest that the Apple iPhone Ultra will be officially unveiled in September alongside the iPhone 18 Pro series. However, a new report indicates that the first foldable iPhone will not be available for pre-order immediately after its presentation, but rather that deliveries are expected to begin later.
According to analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the Apple iPhone Ultra will only be available in limited quantities at launch due to production difficulties. Therefore, pre-orders are expected to begin later than for the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max.
Apple iPhone Ultra before Christmas
According to Kuo, Apple could begin shipping the foldable iPhone in the fourth quarter of 2026. Despite the expected price of $2,300 to $2,500, the analyst believes the iPhone Ultra will sell out immediately after its launch.
The limited availability could also lead resellers to sell the device at markups of 50 to 100 percent above the retail price. Kuo estimates that Apple will ship around 7 to 8 million units of the foldable iPhone by the end of 2026.
According to a recent report, Apple has increased its production target for the iPhone Ultra in 2026 to around 10 million units.
Rumors suggest the iPhone Ultra will feature a 7.76-inch main display and a 5.49-inch external display. It will likely be powered by Apple’s new A20 Pro chipset paired with 12 GB of RAM. The foldable smartphone is also expected to have a 5,500 mAh battery.
