iOS 26 Wallet now supports American Airlines flight tickets

American Airlines now supports the improved boarding pass feature that Apple introduced in iOS 26. According to the latest app update, boarding passes in the Wallet app offer an updated design with Apple Maps integration, travel guides and baggage tracking features.

Apple has redesigned boarding passes in iOS 26 to make them more convenient for passengers using their iPhones instead of paper boarding passes for flights. The boarding passes now include maps for airport navigation, an option to activate “Find My” to locate AirTag-equipped items, and features for reporting lost baggage to the airline.

“Your boarding pass has a new design and offers more features such as Apple Maps, travel guides, and convenient app links. You can also track your baggage directly from your boarding pass and access ‘Find My Baggage’.”
Airlines must activate the new boarding passes and update their apps accordingly. United Airlines, Air Canada, and Southwest already offer the improved boarding passes. Delta briefly added support but soon removed it.
Apple also implemented support for live activity updates for airlines in iOS 26, allowing users to receive real-time flight updates. However, the app’s release notes do not specify whether American Airlines supports this feature.
Back in June 2025, Apple announced that American Airlines would be among the airlines supporting the updated boarding passes. Other airlines listed included Air Canada, Delta Air Lines, JetBlue, Jetstar, the Lufthansa Group, Qantas, Southwest Airlines, United Airlines, and Virgin Australia.
American Airlines has supported the “Find My” feature for tracking lost baggage since February 2025. In iOS 18, Apple collaborated with airlines to make it easier for airline employees to locate lost baggage using AirTags.
