Product overview Apple iPhone 16e
The Apple iPhone 16e is a more affordable model in the iPhone 16 series and was released in February 2025. It’s aimed at users who want a compact and powerful smartphone but can do without some of the premium features of the Pro models.
– High-quality OLED display
– A18 chip for powerful performance
– 48MP camera with good image quality
– Longer battery life than the standard iPhone 16 models
– IP68 water and dust resistance
Design
The Apple iPhone 16e has an aluminum casing and is available in black and white. It measures 146.7 x 71.5 x 7.8 mm and weighs 167 g. Thanks to its IP68 certification, it is protected against dust and water, so it can withstand temporary immersion.
Build quality
Apple continues to use high-quality materials, giving the iPhone 16e a premium feel. The aluminum casing provides a comfortable grip, while the build quality is of the usual high standard.
Display
The Apple iPhone 16e’s 6.1-inch OLED display offers a resolution of 2532 x 1170 pixels and a 20:9 aspect ratio. It delivers vibrant colors and high contrast, as is typical of Apple. However, it’s not confirmed whether it has a high refresh rate like the Pro models.
Performance
Inside, the A18 chip delivers powerful performance. With 8 GB of RAM and a choice of 128 GB, 256 GB, or 512 GB of storage, the iPhone 16e offers enough power for everyday tasks and demanding apps.
Battery
Apple is promoting the iPhone 16e as a particularly long-lasting model. Its optimized internal design allows for a larger battery, which, according to the manufacturer, offers up to 26 hours of video playback. When streaming, the device is said to last up to 21 hours. Wireless charging is possible, but MagSafe is missing and inductive charging is limited to 7.5W.
Camera
The Apple iPhone 16e’s 48MP main camera uses a new sensor technology that enables up to 2x lossless digital zoom. There’s no ultrawide camera, so macro photography isn’t possible. The TrueDepth front camera offers 12MP and supports autofocus. Videos are recorded in 4K at up to 60 fps, with Dolby Vision and optical image stabilization, but without the sensor-shift technology of the Pro models.
Conclusion
The Apple iPhone 16e is a solid choice for users who are looking for a powerful, compact iPhone but can do without some high-end features.
