According to the first teaser, the Honor Robot Phone is one of the most exciting gadgets around right now, but whether a working prototype will ever hit the market was completely unclear. Honor does indeed have prototypes, but is saving the big reveal for MWC 2026 in March.

According to a new tip from Weibo leaker SmartPikachu, it won’t remain a prototype – the Honor Robot Phone will go into mass production in the first half of next year. Whether Honor is planning a worldwide release or just a launch in China is unclear, but the gadget is definitely slated for sale.

In case you missed it the first time, here’s the teaser again. A gimbal camera like the one in the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 can be folded up from the back to form the robot’s “head.”

As the video shows, you can slip the smartphone into your shirt pocket and record vlogs. Or you can mount it on your bicycle or car and go on an adventure. But it can do much more.

Honor Robot Phone with AI Image Recognition

The robot will have an AI image recognition model that can recognize emotions. And since it can turn its “head” to view the world around it—including you—it will feel much more like the AI in movies than what you experience when you type a question into ChatGPT.

The Honor Robot Phone is expected to launch in August, but this has not yet been officially confirmed.
