Apple iPhone Ultra dummy appears in hands-on video
Last month, a dummy model of the Apple iPhone Ultra was leaked, and another one was compared to a real Huawei Pura X Max. Now another video has surfaced on YouTube showing another dummy model in action.
The unusual design of the Apple iPhone Ultra and also the Huawei Pura X Max is fully showcased here, even if the dimensions of this particular dummy device do not quite match those already leaked.
It might not be 100% accurate, but after so many leaks, it’s pretty clear that the Apple iPhone Ultra will look something like this. And it will unfold into a device that’s slightly smaller than an iPad mini, but has the same tablet form factor. Therefore, we suspect that a tablet-style user interface will be used when the device is unfolded.
This is most likely the reason why Apple chose this form factor: When you unfold the Ultra, you get a true landscape user interface and not a square one.
Apple iPhone Ultra could become the most repairable foldable smartphone
In a second leak today, the well-known tipster “Instant Digital” has revisited its design report on the Apple iPhone Ultra, published in February, claiming that the device’s internal construction will make it the easiest foldable phone to disassemble and repair in the industry.
In a new post on Weibo, Instant Digital stated that the device’s “incredibly sophisticated underlying design logic” had “really paid off,” and predicted that teardown videos would confirm the earlier claims once the device was released. The source described the internal component layout as “logical and elegant,” saying that the design eliminated the complex ribbon cable routing that typically makes disassembly difficult in competing folding devices, instead achieving a “really high level of modularity.”
The comments appear to refer to Instant Digital’s February 2nd report, which revealed various design details of the Apple iPhone Ultra. These include the volume buttons moved to the top edge, Touch ID and camera controls on the right side, an iPhone Air-style camera platform, a single punch-hole front camera, and only two color options. The report also addressed the device’s internal design language, which, according to the leaker, is now even more significant than readers initially thought.
Instant Digital explained at the time that the device’s motherboard appears to be located on the right side. To avoid routing the volume button cables (which are located on the left side of all other iPhone models) across the screen to the left, Apple reportedly decided to route them directly upwards, thus making optimal use of the internal space.

Instant Digital has been reporting on the Apple iPhone Ultra for some time now. The leaker previously claimed that the device would be around 2,000 Euros/US Dollars at launch. The device will be cost-effective, exclusively compatible with eSIM, Apple’s foldable displays are nearing mass production in March, and it will be available in three storage variants. Finally, the leaker stated that camera control is considered a key feature of the foldable iPhone.
The Apple iPhone Ultra is expected to be released in the fall alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max. The device is expected to have a 7.8-inch internal display and a 5.5-inch external display, the A20 chip and C2 modem, Touch ID and two main cameras.
