Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold: Here is the expected price
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold was unveiled today, but so far only the price for the Korean market has been announced. However, we can find out how much it will cost in other countries.
In South Korea, the Galaxy Z TriFold is available in a single variant: Crafted Black with 16 GB of RAM and 512 GB of storage. The price is 3,594,000 KRW, which is approximately €2,108, $2,450, £1,850, or INR 220,140. But these aren’t the prices you can expect.
To put the price into perspective, let’s take the corresponding model of the Galaxy Z Fold7, the 12/512 GB variant, which launched at 2,537,700 KRW, about 41% cheaper than the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold.
So, if we apply a 41% markup to the prices of the Galaxy Z Fold7 in the US, UK, and Europe, we get the following figures, and these prices don’t seem unreasonable for such a high-tech smartphone.
In Germany, the price of the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold with 16/512 GB will be around €3,100, according to this calculation. In the UK, it will cost £2,680, in the US $2,990, and in India INR 263,000.
How the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is Assembled and Tested
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold is the Korean company’s new flagship foldable smartphone and a remarkable technological achievement for the brand. We already covered some details in our announcement report, but Samsung has now released an official video detailing the assembly and rigorous testing process that ensures every Z TriFold performs flawlessly in everyday use.
The starting point is the titanium hinge structure, which incorporates two Armor FlexHinges. Samsung uses an automated assembly system and also employs 3D laser scanning for quality control of the main display.
Samsung also conducts a 200,000-fold test to ensure the main display can withstand the stress of 100 folds per day for five years.
The Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold even undergoes a high-speed computed tomography test, which analyzes key internal structural components such as the flexible circuit board to ensure all requirements are met. The foldable tablet then undergoes a sharpness test to guarantee the cameras function correctly.
Samsung also conducts a “real-world scenario test” that simulates active use cases under a variety of conditions, including network, battery, display, and environmental factors.
Finally, Samsung tests the TriFoldable’s IPX8 water resistance by immersing the device in water.
