New leak: Samsung Galaxy S26 series will not get a brighter display
The Samsung Galaxy S26 series smartphones, whose official unveiling is expected in January 2026, will not, in fact, have brighter displays than their predecessors.
The information comes from reliable tipster UniverseIce, who stated that the peak brightness of the Galaxy S26 series is 2,600 nits – just like the Galaxy S25 series. If this is true, it wouldn’t be a smart move by Samsung, as there are several Chinese flagship models on the market that are significantly brighter.
Regarding the display material, the leaker said he was “basically certain” that Samsung would switch to the newer M14 displays. However, it remains unclear whether the display will support 10-bit color and PWM high-frequency dimming.
Rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S26 series will consist of the Galaxy S26, the Galaxy S26+, and the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Ultra model is expected to have improved wired charging power of 60 watts instead of 45 watts, while wireless charging will be 25 watts. That’s still 10 watts more than the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
Rumors suggest that the Samsung Galaxy S26 and the Galaxy S26+ will also receive faster wireless charging – from 15 watts to 20 watts. That’s not a huge leap, so it remains to be seen how significant the difference will actually be in everyday use.
