Samsung Galaxy S26 series: Exynos 2600, cameras, storage and weight leaked
The Samsung Galaxy S26 series is expected to launch in February. Rumors suggest that the Exynos 2600 chipset will mark the return of Samsung’s own processors in most regions. Furthermore, there are new leaks regarding the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s main camera, RAM and storage options, and weight.
Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+ with Higher Margin Exynos 2600
The Samsung Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ will be equipped with the Exynos 2600 in markets such as Korea and Europe, while North America is expected to receive the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip. The S26 Ultra will reportedly retain the Snapdragon chip in all regions. According to a new report from the South Korean company ChosunBiz, based on industry sources, Samsung Electronics’ System LSI and MX divisions are currently negotiating a $20 to $30 price reduction per unit for the Exynos 2600.
This doesn’t necessarily mean that the Galaxy S26 with the Exynos 2600 will be $20 to $30 cheaper than the version with the Snapdragon 8 Gen Elite Gen 5, but rather that Samsung will likely increase its profit margins for each Exynos smartphone.
The new report also mentions that the Exynos 2600 showed promising results in benchmark tests The results have been shown, but it’s still too early to say whether this will hold true in real-world use. The Exynos 2600 is said to be manufactured using Samsung’s 2nm process and will feature a deca-core CPU configuration (1+3+6) with a maximum clock speed of 3.8 GHz.
The chip is expected to outperform the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chip by 29% in terms of GPU performance. Rumors suggest that the Exynos 2600 also offers 14% higher CPU performance and 75% faster GPU performance than the Apple A19 Pro chip, which powers the iPhone 17 Pro models.
Technical specifications of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra main camera leaked
According to a recent leak, the main camera of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will use the 200MP Samsung ISOCELL HP2 sensor. Leaker Ice Universe has confirmed this and also revealed an interesting detail. The HP2 sensor is the same one Samsung used for the main camera of the Galaxy S25 Ultra, but this time there is a difference.
The S25 Ultra’s main camera has an aperture of f/1.7, but according to the tipster, the S26 Ultra’s 200MP camera will have an aperture of f/1.4. That’s good news, because the S26 Ultra’s main camera will capture more light than the S25 Ultra’s, resulting in improved low-light photos. The sensor also supports pixel binning, allowing images to be created with resolutions of 12.5 MP, 50 MP, and 200 MP.
According to earlier rumors, the 200 MP main camera of the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra will be complemented by a 50 MP ultra-wide-angle camera (Samsung JN3), a 50 MP periscope telephoto camera (IMX854), and a 12 MP telephoto camera (Samsung S5K3LD). A 12 MP front camera (Sony IMX874) is available for selfies and video calls.
RAM/storage options for Samsung Galaxy S26, S26+, and S26 Ultra leaked
According to another new leak, the Samsung Galaxy S26 and S26+ will each be released in two RAM/storage combinations in international markets: 12 GB RAM with 256 GB storage and 12 GB RAM with 512 GB storage. The S26 Ultra, on the other hand, will be available in three variants in most regions: 12/256 GB, 12/512 GB, and 12 GB/1 TB. However, in some markets, the 1 TB model will be equipped with 16 GB of RAM. One such market is China, where local brands dominate and no manufacturer offers less than 16 GB of RAM for its top-of-the-line models.
Samsung will therefore compete domestically, but in other parts of the world, a more affordable 12 GB variant will be chosen, relying on the Samsung brand alone to entice customers to prefer a 12 GB RAM S26 to a Chinese device with 16 GB. A leak from a few days ago also revealed that the entire S26 series will use LPDDR5X RAM with a speed of 10.7 Gbps.
Samsung Galaxy S26 series will be lighter and thinner

However, a more recent report suggests that the device will actually be thinner, measuring only 6.9 mm. This would make it 0.3 mm thinner than its predecessor, the Galaxy S25. The report also includes specifications for the Samsung Galaxy S26+ and S26 Ultra models, as well as comparisons with their counterparts in the iPhone 17 series. The S26+ is 7.3 mm thick and weighs 191 grams – almost identical specifications to the Galaxy S25+, which launched in January. Both the S26 and S26+ are also 13 grams lighter and over 1 mm thinner than their counterparts in the iPhone 17 series.
The S26 Ultra is expected to be 7.9 mm thick and weigh 214 grams. This makes the upcoming flagship model 0.3 mm thinner and 4 grams lighter than the S25 Ultra. The difference is even more pronounced compared to the iPhone 17 Pro Max, where the Galaxy would be 17 grams lighter and 0.85 mm thinner.
