Samsung Galaxy Buds4: Leak reveals new design and head gestures
According to a new leak, the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 have been discovered in the code of One UI 8.5, including several detailed images that also reveal new features for the upcoming generation. The stems of the Samsung Galaxy Buds3 and Galaxy Buds3 Pro will apparently remain unchanged for at least another generation.
However, the stems of the Samsung Galaxy Buds4 will be flattened, moving away from the triangular shape of the Buds3 generation. And there’s no sign of the “Blade Lights” from the previous models anywhere.
The charging case has also been redesigned, and the earbuds now lie flat inside. On the back, there’s a USB-C port for charging and a button that activates the “Find My Phone” function (the phone will emit a sound to help locate the earbuds). It might also work the other way around: On the other side of the charging port is a speaker grille, through which the charging case could also emit sound.
Samsung Galaxy Buds4 with Head Gestures
The biggest innovation of the upcoming Samsung headphones is head gestures: By nodding or shaking your head, you can trigger certain actions: answer calls or notifications, have notifications read aloud (and cancel the read-aloud function), deactivate alarms and timers, and much more. When chatting with your smartphone’s AI assistant, you can answer yes/no questions by nodding or shaking your head. The stems serve as hardware controls with push and swipe functions.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds4 also offer adaptive noise cancellation, 360° audio recording, and fast pairing with a smartphone or tablet. The charging case has a slightly larger battery.
The Samsung Galaxy Buds4 and Buds4 Pro are expected to be unveiled alongside the Galaxy S26 series at the end of January and launch in early February, provided the latest reports are true.
