Apple iPhone Air: Sales figures disappointing
According to the Japanese company Mizuho Securities, the Apple iPhone Air is selling so poorly that Apple is planning to cut production. The Japanese investment banking and securities firm claims that the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max outsold their predecessors during the same period last year, while the standard iPhone 17 was also a huge success and significantly more popular than the iPhone 16 be.
The Apple iPhone Air is apparently the outlier. Accordingly, Apple plans to reduce production by one million units this year. At the same time, production of all other iPhones is to be increased by two million units. The total production forecast for the iPhone 17 series this year has also been increased from 88 million units to 94 million units for early 2026.
Apple iPhone Air and Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge similarly unpopular
However, the phenomenon is not limited to the iPhone Air. According to a second recent report, Samsung plans to discontinue its rival Galaxy S25 Edge due to low sales. However, the Air is reportedly very popular, at least in China, and sold out there within hours. This could secure the existence of the thin smartphone.
