Apple MacBook M5 and Mac M6 appear in report

Marko Zivkovic of AppleInsider has published a list of alleged identifiers for future Mac models scheduled to be released over the next year. The report doesn’t contain any particularly surprising information, but it’s further evidence that Apple is apparently working on new models of all Mac models— From the Apple MacBook M5 to the MacBook Air, MacBook Pro, den iMac, Mac mini, and Mac Studio, all the way to the Mac M6 Pro.

New Apple MacBook M5, M5 Pro, and M5 Max models are expected to launch later this year. As was the case with the M4 chipsets in 2024, the report suggests that updated MacBook Pro, Mac mini, and iMac models with M5 chips could launch simultaneously.

The next MacBook Air and Mac Studio models are expected to launch next year, and an updated Mac Pro desktop tower is reportedly still in development. However, it’s not entirely clear whether it will arrive later this year or next year.

Apple MacBook M5 without major changes

No major design changes have surfaced in the rumor mill so far for the next Apple MacBook M5 and the other Macs in the pipeline. Over the next year, MacBook Pro models with the M6, M6 Pro, and M6 Max chips are expected to feature OLED displays and a thinner design.
