Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone Ultra prices and colors tipped

Less than a week before the unveiling of the new Apple iPhone 18 Pro models, the market research firm TrendForce has estimated the prices of the devices based on current hardware costs. There’s also a new rumor about the different colors.

The price estimates compared to the previous year’s models are as follows:

As you can see, TrendForce expects prices for the Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max to increase by 10–20% compared to last year’s Pro models. Based on TrendForce’s June forecast, which predicted a price increase of 14–18%, the starting price for the iPhone 18 Pro could reach $1,249–$1,299 and for the iPhone 18 Pro Max $1,349–$1,399.

These prices would still fall within the recently broadened range of 10–20% and better align with Apple’s usual pricing. TrendForce also anticipates that prices for Apple’s first foldable iPhone Ultra will range between $2,099 and $2,299, with the highest-capacity version potentially costing over $3,000.

The regular iPhone 18 model is not expected to be released until spring 2027. However, TrendForce anticipates that this device will also see the same general price increase of 10-20%.

The primary reason for the price increases is the rising cost of storage. According to TrendForce, the cost of a 256GB memory chip has increased by nearly 400% year-over-year, while a separate analysis by the firm puts the total cost of materials (BOM) for a 256GB Pro model at around 38% higher over the same period. However, Apple is expected to absorb some of this cost increase through lower profit margins and thus not pass the entire cost on to consumers.

Last year, Apple managed to avoid raising the price of the iPhone 17 Pro Max and only slightly increased the price of the iPhone 17 Pro in the US by $100 compared to the previous year. This year, however, the relentless expansion of AI infrastructure has further driven up storage costs, impacting the entire electronics industry. And it doesn’t look like the situation will improve anytime soon.

Apple iPhone 18 Pro colors

Numerous rumors have already circulated regarding the color options of the Apple iPhone 18 Pro models, and now another one has surfaced. The latest leak confirms some earlier rumors and indicates that the new iPhones will be available in three colors.

According to leaker Fixed Focus Digital, the Apple iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max will be available in Dark Cherry/Burgundy, Sky Blue, and Black. This latest leak contradicts most previous rumors that the upcoming iPhones would also be offered in a silver color variant. This silver color had already been seen in several images.

Should this prove true, Apple would replace all color options of the iPhone 17 Pro series. The new Dark Cherry/Burgundy color is expected to be this year’s trend color, replacing last year’s Cosmic Orange.
