Apple Watch Series 12 and Watch Ultra 4 with S11 chipset

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg has summarized in a new article what to expect from this year’s Apple Watch Series 12 and Apple Watch Ultra 4. And it doesn’t seem to be much. Although rumors circulated that Touch ID might be included in the Apple Watch Series 12, Gurman stated that he doesn’t expect any major design changes to the Series 12 or Watch Ultra 4 compared to the current Apple Watch Series 11 and Watch Ultra 3 models.

Touch ID would likely be considered a significant design change. Therefore, it’s becoming increasingly unlikely that Apple will incorporate such a sensor into its smartwatches.
Another rumor suggested that the Apple Watch Series 12 would have a wristband with an integrated health sensor, but Gurman did not mention this in his report.
Apple Watch Series 12 with few updates?
Instead, he expects more routine changes, including increased performance and unspecified improvements to health and fitness tracking. The Apple Watch Series 11 and Watch Ultra 3 both feature the S10 chip, which debuted in the Series 10 and Ultra 2. Therefore, the S11 chip, or a newer one, is likely to deliver the first performance improvements to the Apple Watch in years.
He said there won’t be an Apple Watch SE 4 this year. However, major changes are planned for the Apple Watch in general, but according to him, these are not expected for another one to two years – possibly coinciding with the Apple iPhone 20. Furthermore, Apple is still working on a blood glucose monitoring feature with the goal of introducing it by 2030.
