Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide appears in new images

Yesterday, a leak revealed CAD-based Renderings of the upcoming Samsung Galaxy Z Fold8, and today the same source returns with new images, this time of the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide, which apparently will be presented alongside the Fold8 and Flip8 which are scheduled to be launched this summer.

The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide is expected to have a wider format, thus becoming the first Apple iPhone Fold competitor that also feature a wider aspect ratio. The advantage of these new devices is that they don’t have a square internal display, but rather one with an aspect ratio more akin to a small screen. Tablet This is a reminder. This improves the usability of the foldable display, and it is also much better suited for watching videos.

The Galaxy Z Fold Wide bears the codename H8 and the model number SM-F971U. Its design language is similar to that of the Galaxy S25 Edge, especially with regard to the camera unit.

Technically, the Samsung Galaxy Z Fold Wide is very similar to the Fold8, which also has a Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor and a 5,000 mAh battery with 45-watt charging support under the hood. However, the displays differ due to their different aspect ratios: the foldable display measures 7.6 inches, the external display 5.4 inches.
The Fold Wide is expected to measure 123.9 x 164.4 x 4.9 mm when unfolded and 123.9 x 82.2 x 9.8 mm when folded. The thickness, including the camera bump, is 14.6 mm. Its price is expected to be very similar to the Galaxy Z Fold8. According to one of the latest leaks, a start in 2026 is likely. This is also supported by the fact that Samsung’s Foldables are always equipped with the latest and fastest Qualcomm chipset, which is currently the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5.
