Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge with 5.8mm profile and 3,900 mAh battery is here
After months of teasers, leaks and rumors, the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is finally official. This means that Samsung has won the race for the first super-slim smartphone on the market, as its big competitor, the Apple iPhone 17 Air, will supposedly only be introduced in the fall.
The central point of the Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is of course the thickness, which is only 5.8 mm. In addition, the Edge only weighs 163 g, so something has obviously fallen by the wayside, namely the battery. The cell can only store 3,900 mAh.
In addition, the battery only charges with 25 watts via cable, which is not a big surprise for Samsung smartphones. Despite its small size, only 55% ends up in the bag after 30 minutes. The appropriate charger is missing, as is support for wireless charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge’s 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display features QHD+ resolution, a variable refresh rate of 1-120 Hz and Cornings Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 on the top. It is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite for Galaxy chipset, paired with 12GB of RAM and either 256GB or 512GB of storage.
On the back there is a 200 MP main camera with f/1.7 aperture and OIS, which, according to Samsung, enables “2x zoom in optical quality”. There is also a 12 MP ultra-wide-angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and autofocus for macro shots. The 12 MP front camera with f/2.2 aperture, which has been used by Samsung for years on all Galaxy S models, takes selfies.
Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge with Titanium Frame
The S25 Edge runs Android 15 with One UI 7 on the surface, is IP68 certified for dust and water resistance, has a titanium frame, and is offered in “a captivating color palette,” according to Samsung’s press release. These include Titanium Silver, Titanium Jetblack and Titanium Icyblue. Its overall dimensions are 158.2 x 75.6 x 5.8 mm.
The Samsung Galaxy S25 Edge is already available for pre-order. The basic version with 256 GB costs € 1,249/$ 1,099, the top model with 512 GB is € 1,369. During the pre -order period, there is a free upgrade to 512 GB of memory. You will also receive a bonus if you put your old phone in payment. The actual delivery begins on May 30th.
