The Honor Magic V5, which launched in July of last year, shipped with a 6,100 mAh Si/C battery in China, while other countries offered a 5,820 mAh Si/C battery. For a foldable smartphone, that’s already a pretty substantial capacity. But the Honor Magic V6 is expected to go even further, as the latest rumor and, more importantly, the latest leak prove.

According to the leaker Digital Chat Station the Honor Magic V6 will have a battery with a capacity of at least 7,000 mAh. If this is true, the V6 would be the foldable smartphone with the highest battery capacity on the market.

However, this isn’t the first time we’ve heard of a 7,000 mAh battery in the Honor Magic V6. According to a previous rumor, Honor was testing the Magic V6 with two battery capacities – 6,900 mAh and 7,200 mAh. The international model might come with the smaller battery, while the Chinese version could be equipped with the larger one. The charging speed is still unknown.

Honor Magic V6 battery capacity officially confirmed by 3C

Thanks to a second leak from the Chinese certification authority 3C, these figures have now been virtually officially confirmed. According to a screenshot of the 3C certification shared by a Chinese tipster on Weibo, the Honor Magic V6’s battery will have a nominal capacity of 7,000 mAh (2,320 mAh + 4,680 mAh), meaning that the typical capacity should be around 7,150 mAh.

The smaller battery of the Honor phone has a nominal capacity of 6,700 mAh (2,195 mAh + 4,505 mAh), which means that the typical capacity should be around 6,850 mAh.

Honor has confirmed the unveiling of the Magic V6 at MWC Barcelona, but has not yet released the technical specifications. If the rumors are to be believed, the Magic V6 will be equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset and a 200MP main camera. Further details are expected to be released in the coming months.
